COVID decision is not the brightest in the world he is blinded by novelty. I ditched Germany when COVID started. Germany is a swirly in the toilet of Europe and grew up there he isn't clearly not knowing what he is talking about. The German rail system is the most broken I have seen it in 50 years, no teain is on time anymore, always delays or missing trains alltogether. He really should take his colored sun glasses off. Germany is but a faded shadow of what it was in the 79s and 80s. And I appeal to all readers here not to listen to tjis person talking in the video. He has no comparison.

Hey guys. Love your stuff. Please read a Schnitzel recipe. Original is veal, that‘s a Wiener Schnitzel. Of course you can choose different meat versions. But what is canon to all Schnitzels: the breadcrust MUST NOT stick to the meat. The Schnitzel is only perfect as soon as the breadcrust „hovers“ above the meat. Believe or read. 🙃

Don't worry, I am a palace person as well, and it is not that bad. Although I don't like the rich ... mainly because I am not rich myself... they do have a sense of beauty, at least one thing the aristocracy and I have in common. That is why I like Ludwig 1, as he was building for the nation and not only for himself, like the Befreiungshalle in Kehlheim for example. I absolutely liked this vid because it had everything in it that makes Bavaria Bavarian: lovely wildlife, good beer, a King's castle and a great church. I really liked that you tried to show the inside of the church this time. You can't really calll me a beliver in the Carholic Version of Christianity either, but the beauty of these places is just unmatched and for centuries the almost heathen way in which the people lived their Christian believes in Bavaria defined Bavarian culture, for example instead of praying to the Great Mother Godess praying to Mary in the same way. I totally agree with you that Linderhof is the niest of Ludwig's palaces. I especially like the grounds with all the tiny castlelike houses dotted around like the grotto. But I have to disagree with you on Neuschwanstein, it is NOT a castle, it is a palace. And if you ask me, in my eyes it is nothing more than Ludwig's propaganda Tool or in other words Ludwig's own little way of sticking his two fingers up at the Kaiser in Berlin. Now that you are a new Born palace person 😅, one palce that really impressed me, is the tiny palace in Neuburg an der Donau. Perhaps you like it too. Thanks again for that wonderful vid. I really like about you two that you like the little things, like the rainbow a fountain makes, and that you give them a stage. This is really refreshing and is very likeable.

If there are many activities you want to do in Garmisch-Partenkirchen or Mittenwald, we would recommend booking a hotel there for a few days. We like the Werdenfelserei. If you only want to spend a day there, just got to GP for a daytrip. It's only an hour and a half by train. I have no idea how much it would cost. It really depends on a lot of factors! Very nice video! Just a small correction: What you got on top of your potato-salad was actually not Bärlauch but Vogerlsalat, in Germany it's called Feldsalat or Rapunzel - related to the fairy tale of the same name. Also it looks like the dressing was made with pumpkin oil :) Keep it up!

I'm planning to base my 2024 visit in Muenchen for 5 days with day trip activities, then onwards to Heidelberg, followed by Wittenberg and Leipzig. If you haven't visited Wittenberg, I recommend it highly. Its a relatively untouched by war medieval city, the home of the Protestant Reformation and home of Martin Luther. The blessings of multi cultural dining are showing off. Find a place where turkish or greek food is offered. They usually have more vegan/vegetarian dishes to offer than the average traditional german cuisine. "Linsen & Spatzen" (lentils & sparrows (small lenghty dumplings)), "Baggers"( potato pancakes), white asperagus with steamed potatos or eggs in mustard sauce, to be mentioned as typically vegan/vegetarian german dish. Those dishes are so humble, they couldn't make it to the tourist restaurants. Unfortunately.

Is it possible to combine Zugspitze and Eibsee in one day? Can I rent a bike from the bottom of the Zugspitze peak tram and bike to the lake?

YES definitely. The Zugspitze gondola and lake are next to each other. I don't know if there is a bike rental next to the Zugspitze. We rented ours in GP.

Neuschwanstein isn't really a castle so much as a work of art. IMO it is best seen from a distance against the mountains. We went inside and toured it a long time ago (late 1990s) and it's true that it just doesn't seem real enough. (Plus it's unfinished.) Last week we were in Fussen and decided to experience Neuschwanstein from "above." We took the Tegelbergbahn gondola from just east of Neuschwanstein up to the top of the slightly more than mile-high mountain and then hiked down. The views of the castle from the gondola were spectacular. The trail that takes you down behind the castle is long (about 8 miles) and surprisingly treacherous for those of us who are "light weight", inexperienced hikers (on either side of age 60). It's not a family stroll and half way through we were wondering if we had made a mistake by trying it. But the views of the surrounding mountains were breathtaking an we managed to survive the 3.5 hour trek down. (The 2 hours that the signs say are estimates for only German mountain goats.) Anyway, I thought you folks might like an alternative idea for the Neuschwanstein area because it is worth seeing.

We finally had the chance to go to Eisenberg and Hohenfryberg castles on this past Thursday. They were WONDERFUL! It was a day with some rain showers which ended up being a blessing in disguise since we were mostly alone at both castles except for short periods of time. Hohenfryberg was defiinitely the more impressive, but I really enjoyed being able to go all around the inner part of the outer wall of Eisenberg castle. Thanks again for pointing out an adventure in Bavaria that I would have probably never heard of otherwise. Here's a little tip though... (We were staying overnight in Fussen, not doing it as a day trip from Munich.) If you're coming from Fussen, there is a bus that leaves from the train station that will drop you off much closer to the base of the castle trails than the train.

I appreciate that you included the darker history of the city. Of course it's not a fun topic but would be inappropriate to ignore and you handled it very well. If anyone is interested to learn more while visiting Nuremberg, check out the Documentation Center museum which is an excellent resource about the N4zi regime and its relationship with the city.

Austria is over rated in general... need to do an exam and a test to get a fishing licence, can't swim in most lakes, no wild camping. All the beautiful nature that you can't enjoy

I’ve lived in Bavaria for over 30 years, German at C2 level & gainful employment for the whole period. I have begun the process for German citizenship so that I can leave the country for more than 180 days without losing my residency. The S2 to Erding is terribly unreliable, so public transport is only mittelmäßig.

Awesome! Glad so many people are benefitting from the new law. DB needs to be overhauled. It's been a downhill spiral since privatisation in the 90s :/
